The College has a very active Career Guidance & Placement Cell (CGPC). With active student feedback and involvement CGPC is trying to constantly upgrade students’ skill and thereby improve their chance of getting placed. Our placement office details are as follows:

The CGPC periodically organises placement training programmes and workshops for students to perform better in campus recruitments. By upgrading contacts with leading software and industrial houses for campus recruitment drives CGPC tries to utilise all opportunities available for students to progress towards their career.

CAMPUS RECRUITMENT DRIVES 2022-23:
Details of some of the placement drives is as follows:
- QBurst Placement Drive:
We have registered for QBurst Campus recruitment drive by sharing a student list.
On 27-09-2022 three Coordinators came to campus and conducted QBurst Recruitment drive 2023 for our institute. 154 students participated in the recruitment drive. They have conducted interviews for shortlisted candidates at QBurst office in Ernakulam between 15-10-2022 to 18-10-2022. Unfortunately no student from our institute has cleared the interview. We have ensured QBurst team an active placement coverage on the next academic year through training programs.
- L & T Edutech Placement Drive:
We have registered for L&T Edutech Campus recruitment drive by sharing a student list on 26-09-2022. 75 students were registered for the placement drive.
On 01-11-2022 one Coordinator from L&T EduTech came to our campus and conducted L&T Edutech Recruitment drive. On 21-11-2022, they published the results and one student was selected for our campus.
- 6D Technologies Placement Drive:
6D Technologies conducted an online test on 29-09-2022.From our institute 69 students attended the test from our Central Computing Facility and 50 students were shortlisted and selected for interview at Munnar Engineering College on 15-10-2022.
College bus was allotted for transporting students from our institute accompanied by Asst. Placement coordinator. In the recruitment process 8 students were placed.
- Experion Placement Drive:
Experion conducted a pooled placement drive on 31-10-2022 at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kottayam. As it was a working day we were unable to allot college bus and external buses were booked utilising CGPC funds for attending the placement drive. In the drive 4 students were placed.
- Algomox Placement Drive:
Algomox has conducted a pooled placement drive on RIT, Kottayam. 54 students from our institute have participated in the placement drive. College bus was allotted for the same accompanied by Asst. Placement Coordinator. In the placement drive 9 students got placed.
- Mega Placement Drive at Al Azhar Engineering College:
A Mega placement drive was organised by Al Azhar college of Engineering during 9th and 10th March 2023, where 56 students from our institute have participated. College bus was allotted for the same. In the placement drive a total of 16 students got placed.
TRAINING PROGRAMS 2022-23:
TCS Youth Employment Program
TCS Youth Employment Program is an initiative of TCS, as part of their CSR program. The Youth Employment Program responds to this need of the youth and sets them free and equal to gain meaningful employment in the industry.
Govt. Engineering College Idukki has registered for the program 22-Aug-2022. From our institution 36 pre-final year students have registered for the program from different branches. They are conducting training programs on weekends covering topics Business basics, Aptitude, coding skills, etc. Currently the classes are going with good student participation.

Tech Saksham:
Tech Saksham is a CSR initiative of Microsoft and SAP. TechSaksham is a program that aims to equip women with technical skills and encourage them towards technology careers. On 20-09-202 we signed an MoU with Edunet Foundation for participating in Tech Saksham program in our institution. We have conducted an orientation session for women students at our Central Computing Facility on 28-09-2022 from 2.15 pm to 4.00 pm. 80 students from our institution have registered for the program. Currently they are conducting a training program on Full Stack Development for the registered women students.
ASAP Skill Training and Connect Career To Campus programme:
Our institution is actively participating in the ASAP training program. For our final year students ASAP is conducting a training program on Full Stack Development. 34 students have registered for the program. For financially aiding the students to attend the course we have got approval of TEQIP fund of Rs. 73278 Rs.
In the ASAP course scholarship test 70 students from our institution have scored 100% scholarship to attend Web and UI courses. The course is currently undergoing good student participation on weekdays.
ASAP has also organised the Connect Career to Campus (CCC) orientation program on 12-12-2022, which is an initiative of Kerala Government. At the end of the orientation program students were also registered in the DWMS portal.
Tech 4 All Women Empowerment Program by Cognizant in association with ICT Academy:
Tech 4 All Women Empowerment program is a CSR initiative of Cognizant. The course needs to be delivered within a 3 Months Time frame , from the date of commencement. The college needs to allocate One Full Day (6 Hours) In a week (Minimum) . All the sessions will be hands-on and Lab with Internet availability required for all sessions. Minimum 40 students required from one college to schedule the Batch (Maximum 100 from one college).
We have registered for the same with 49 women pre-final year students on 09-01-2023. The process of MoU signing is undergoing, and will be completed by next weekend.
Career Orientation Training:
A career orientation training was arranged for all branch students in Open Auditorium on 23-11-2023. Expert from Pragmatics Training institute, Mr. Antony Varkey has conducted the training. Active student interaction made the training a success in giving students various directions in pursuing their career.
Aptitude training for Final year students:
An aptitude training was conducted on 7th and 8th March 2023 to prepare students for Mega Placement drive at Al Azhar on 9th and 10th March 2023. From the students feedback after the drive, it has come to notice that the aptitude training was very helpful to the students.
Connect Career to Campus Work Readiness Program:
Work Readiness Program is a free training program offered by Connect Career to Campus project by Govt. of Kerala. Govt. Engineering college Idukki has effectively utilised this opportunity for skilling our pre-final year students. We have registered for the program and ASAP has started training(15 hours duration) for Pre-final year ECE, CSE and IT branches in the third week of March 2023. Students are utilising this training well.
Aptitude training for Pre-final year students:
A two day aptitude training program for pre-final year students is planned during the third and fourth week of April 2023.
PLACEMENT STATISTICS 2021-22:
During 2021-22, a total of 105 jobs were offered by tier 1 companies like TCS, Infosys Wipro etc.to a maximum salary package of 4.6 lakhs CTC for the students of GEC Idukki.
PLACEMENT STATISTICS 2019-20:
During 2019-20, a total of 64 jobs were offered by tier 1 companies like UST, Infosys Wipro etc.to a maximum salary package of 4.3 lakhs CTC for the students of GEC Idukki.
